I agree 100%. Its probably also a great time to invest oil, but the problem is that who has the cash right now to take advantage. I personally would love to own my home in Franklin, but I cant get the down payment together for the mortgage right now. Hopefully soon (if i don’t get laid off again)!

Zillow wants traffic and one of the easiest ways to attract more visitors is to give them something for free. The make me move feature is just another way that Zillow creates a “buzz”. While Zillow gets a lot of traffic to its website, I don’t believe buyers are using it to find a home. It’s mostly people who want to check out the “value” of their home or their neighbor’s property. In the northeast part of the country, any of these automated value based systems don’t work well due to the uniqueness of many homes, the historical value or rural character. As the owner of a for sale by owner marketing company, we do our best to teach prospective home sellers why NOT to use Zillow-like free valuations and to obtain an appraisal by a licensed residential appraiser to determine their asking price. Sellers who use the make me move feature are not motivated sellers any more than many who list on the MLS at a sky-high price.
